POOF DOOF is Australia’s favourite LGBTQI+ nightclub brand with a dedicated community both online and offline. Our social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube, aim to be an extension of the inclusive, fun, and celebratory environment we create in person. This Social Media Policy establishes guidelines and expectations for how users engage with POOF DOOF and each other on our platforms.

By engaging with POOF DOOF on social media, you agree to follow this policy. These guidelines aim to promote positivity, inclusivity, and respect. Violations of the policy may result in the removal of posts, content, or comments, and in some cases, we may block users or report them to the respective platform.

 

  1. Respect, Inclusivity, and Diversity

POOF DOOF celebrates the diverse LGBTQI+ community, and we are committed to maintaining a respectful and inclusive online space. This is a priority for our social media platforms, where all followers, attendees, performers, and allies are expected to treat one another with dignity and respect.

  • No Hate Speech: We do not tolerate hate speech in any form, including content that discriminates based on sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, or any other characteristic. Such content will be removed, and users who engage in hate speech will be blocked and reported to the platform.
  • No Harassment or Bullying: POOF DOOF aims to create a safe online environment where everyone can express themselves without fear of harassment or bullying. Any form of harassment, personal attacks, or threatening behaviour toward other community members will result in immediate action, including removing offending comments or blocking the user.
  • Uplifting Diverse Voices: We encourage open discussions and welcome diverse viewpoints, especially from underrepresented or marginalised groups within the LGBTQI+ community. Posts or comments that aim to silence or marginalise others will be removed.

 

  1. Posting and Content Guidelines

As a part of the POOF DOOF community, we expect followers and attendees to contribute positively to the social media space. This includes ensuring that all content shared aligns with our values of respect, diversity, and inclusivity.

  • Appropriate Language: While POOF DOOF fosters an energetic and fun-loving culture, please refrain from using offensive language, slurs, or explicit content. Our social media channels must remain accessible to a wide audience, and offensive posts will be removed at our discretion.
  • No Offensive or Inappropriate Imagery: We do not allow the posting of images or videos that are sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate. Images or videos of unsafe behaviour at events, excessive intoxication, or harassment will be removed.
  • No Spam or Unsolicited Promotions: POOF DOOF’s social media channels are for building community, not for promoting unrelated businesses, products, or services. Unsolicited promotions, advertising, or repeated spam will be removed, and accounts engaging in this behaviour may be blocked.
  • Respect Intellectual Property: When posting content, please ensure that you have the right to share it. Do not post images, music, videos, or any other content that infringes on someone else’s copyright. When sharing content related to POOF DOOF, ensure that you give proper credit to the creator where applicable.

 

  1. Event Media and Photography

POOF DOOF events are known for being vibrant, energetic, and inclusive, and we encourage attendees to capture and share their favourite moments on social media. However, it’s important that all media shared respects the privacy and boundaries of others.

  • Consent for Photos and Videos: Before sharing images or videos of others at POOF DOOF events, please ensure you have their consent. This is particularly important for individuals who may not wish to be publicly visible online. If someone asks to have an image or video featuring them removed, please respect their request.
  • Reposting and Sharing: By tagging @poofdoof or using our event hashtags, you grant POOF DOOF the right to share your content on our social media channels, with appropriate credit. If you would prefer that your tagged content not be reposted, please inform us via direct message.
  • Respecting Privacy: Some POOF DOOF attendees may wish to keep their event attendance private. Please be mindful when posting photos or videos that could identify individuals without their permission. If you feel uncomfortable being featured in content shared by POOF DOOF or other attendees, let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

 

  1. Privacy and Personal Information

Your privacy is important to us. We ask that users of our social media channels do not share any personal information (yours or others) publicly on our platforms. This includes contact details, home addresses, or any other confidential information. If you need to share sensitive information with POOF DOOF (e.g., ticketing issues), please email us.

 

  1. Interaction with POOF DOOF Staff

Our social media channels are managed by real people, and we aim to foster positive interactions. POOF DOOF’s social media team is available to answer questions, provide event information, and engage with the community, but we ask that you communicate respectfully.

  • Response Times: While we strive to respond to inquiries as quickly as possible, please allow up to 48 hours for a response. We appreciate your patience, especially during busy event periods.
  • Respectful Communication: Abusive, aggressive, or offensive messages directed at our staff will not be tolerated. Users engaging in such behaviour may be blocked from our platforms without notice.
  1. Contests, Competitions, and Giveaways

POOF DOOF often runs contests and giveaways through our social media channels. By participating, you agree to the following:

  • Eligibility: Contests are typically open to individuals aged 18 and older. Other eligibility requirements, such as location restrictions, will be detailed in the specific contest or giveaway rules.
  • Entry Rules: Participation guidelines will be clearly outlined for each contest. Entries that violate these rules, including spam entries or multiple entries from the same account, may be disqualified.
  • Winners: Winners will be notified via the platform used to run the competition (e.g., direct message on Instagram). If a winner does not respond within the specified time, a new winner may be selected.
  • Prizes: Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash or any other items. POOF DOOF is not responsible for any additional costs associated with collecting or using prizes, unless explicitly stated.

We will investigate and take action, which may include removing the content or blocking the user responsible.
